China!

A CCSU technology education major begins a semester in China this week, as two of our faculty arrive in a neighboring province for a two-week exchange program.

Junior John McCandless is studying at Northwest University in Xi'an, China. Over the past month, he visited Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai, and traveled through Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. Let Foster know if you would like to get in touch with John.

Meanwhile, two of our facultyDepartment Chair James Delaura and Assistant Professor Michele Dischino left on March 2 for a two-week trip to China with 17 high-schoolers from Hartford. The program is hosted jointly by the Center for 21st Century Skills and the Ningxia, China Board of Education.

Foster on sabbatical in Fall From August to December. he will be doing research in Pennsylvania. He'll be back in January. [2/8/08]

student teachers meet The ten technology education majors who will be student-teaching this semester met with TE student-teaching coordinator Donald Schaer on January 18. Here are their names, along with their placements for the first eight weeks. After midterm, each student-teacher will be assigned a high school at which they will teach for eight more weeks.
